What is LSAMP?

LSAMP, the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, is a program created by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to assist universities and colleges in increasing the number of STEM baccalaureate and graduate degrees awarded to African American, Hispanic/Latino American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Native Pacific Islander students. In doing so, LSAMP aims to diversify the nation’s STEM workforce by increasing the participation of groups that have been historically underrepresented in these disciplines.
